The momentum system now rewards smart play—you gain speed going downhill, and the Spin Dash works beautifully on slopes. The camera, one of the original's worst offenders, follows the action smoothly even during high-speed Mach Speed sections and tight platforming sequences. Mach Speed sections, infamous in the original for zero air control and instant deaths, now give you full aerial control, turning these sequences into some of the game's best moments. Argentinian programmer Ian "ChaosX" Moris saw this untapped potential. Since around 2017, he has been single-handedly rebuilding every single element of the game from scratch using the Unity engine. The result is a fan-made masterpiece that retains the original's sprawling level design while completely overhauling the gameplay mechanics, visuals, and performance.

In the original game, Silver's telekinetic movement felt sluggish and heavily restricted. ChaosX re-engineered Silver's physics to make his gameplay fast, fluid, and deeply satisfying. This release packages all three main character campaigns into one cohesive client, allowing players to play through every action stage across all three characters. For the uninitiated, Sonic P-06 is a passion project by developer "ChaosX" (and team) that rebuilds the notoriously buggy Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) from the ground up in the Unity engine. The goal? To deliver the game we should have gotten on the Xbox 360 and PS3—with buttery smooth 60 FPS, fixed physics, and polished level design.
